Following the recent Sony Hack scandal, which has given us a huge amount of information about what Sony have planned for the coming years, talk has once again turned to Sony's plan for the Spider-Man movies, including a number of different spin-off films being planned, while fans are continuing to call for Sony to do what is best for the franchise and sell the rights back to Marvel.
Well, according to some of the recent reports about the Sony Hack scandal, there are actually plans for Sony to work with Marvel on a Spider-Man project, with most of the talk suggesting that we could see Spider-Man appearing briefly in Captain America: Civil War. The character could then be brought more into the Marvel Cinematic Universe in the future, effectively giving Marvel control of the character.
Since Sony have pretty much destroyed everything fans love about Spider-Man, it would certainly be in the best interest of the franchise to get Marvel on board for the future, although we simply cannot see it happening. Despite the fact the Spider-Man movies have been less than impressive, they still bring in hundreds of millions of dollars for Sony, as fans continue to go and watch the movies.
Instead, we are sure that Sony will instead decide to go ahead with the idea of bringing us some spin-off projects, including the Sinister Six movie, a female cased superhero movie featuring either Black Cat or Spider-Girl or both, and we wouldn't put it past them going ahead with that rumoured Aunt May project. The fans will then, once again, head out and watch these movies, making Sony more money, convincing them not to let Marvel have anything to do with Spider-Man any time soon.
The only way we are going to see Marvel getting their hands on Spider-Man in any way, is if the fans boycott all future Spider-Man projects, but that will never happen. Expect Sony to keep the rights of Spider-Man for many more years to come!
