There have been a number of horrible and nasty stories surrounding sports stars over the years, with boxer Kell Brook being stabbed, boxer Anthony Crolla being smashed over the head with a concrete block, and tennis star Monica Seles being stabbed. Well, it seems that it is something that is going to continue to happen, with the latest victim of such an incident being the Czech tennis ace Petra Kvitova.
We are sure that most of you have heard about the incident by now and are familiar with what happened to Petra Kvitova, who was stabbed in her left hand by some intruders who were robbing her home. There were many concerned people who were worried about the injuries sustained by Petra but, fortunately for the tennis star, and her millions of fans around the world, it looks like she is going to make a full recovery and will be able to return to tennis later in the year.
According to the many reports about her recovery, it has been suggested that Petra Kvitova could be back playing tennis within the next six months or so, although the real question is going to be whether or not she can make it back to the top of her game. While Petra was ranked at number 11 in the world when the incident happened, she has been ranked as high as number 2, and has also won two Wimbledon titles along the way, but how well can she really recover?
Petra Kvitova is a left handed tennis player and she was stabbed through her left hand during the attack, so surely this is going to have a hugely negative impact on her performance with a racket in hand. We seriously hope that Petra can get back to her very best but it is going to be a long and difficult journey back, so we would like to wish her all the best in her recovery and hope that she gets back to winning ways in the near future.
