There are so many different issues surrounding the Rio 2016 Olympic Games, with some athletes pulling out due to their concerns about the zika virus, while there are other athletes who are almost being forced not to compete. As you may well have guessed, the latter are the Russian athletes, due to the huge drugs scandal which has rocked the sport to the very core.

It has been made official that Russia have been banned from the Rio 2016 Olympics and despite appeals from a number of the clean Russian athletes, the ban will stand and Russia will not be represented at the games. However, those clean Russian athletes can still compete in Rio but they will not be representing Russia and will instead have to compete as a neutral.
Many fans of athletics were hoping to see the beautiful Darya Klishina competing at the Olympics, as her beauty will certainly brighten up the games, but being a Russian long jump star has cast doubts over whether we will actually get to see her afterall. So, will we see Darya Klishina competing at the Rio 2016 Olympic Games?

Fortunately enough, Darya Klishina is one of the clean Russian athletes and she has chosen to take the opportunity to compete at the Olympics as a neutral athlete. That will certainly please a lot of fans around the world and will make the long jump event even more worth while. We will certainly be watching. Good luck Darya.
