Hollywood superstar Will Smith has been in the movie making industry for the past few decades now and has made some fantastic movies along the way. These movies have led to Will starring in a number of sequels and he has been linked to doing many more sequels in the coming years. With so many sequels in development, which ones will we actually see Will Smith make?
Will Smith had been linked to reprising his role as Captain Stephen Hiller in the planned movie sequel Independence Day 2 but we now know that the movie will be going ahead without his involvement. Meanwhile, Will has been linked to reprising his roles in the sequels Bad Boys 3, I Am Legend 2, Hancock 2 and I, Robot 2, although none of them have yet gone into production.
It is no surprise that there has been talk of these sequels being made. Bad Boys grossed $141m worldwide, with Bad Boys 2 making $262m so a Bad Boys 3 film would make sense. I Am Legend took an impressive $524m which instantly led to talk of I Am Legend 2. Meanwhile Hancock made $624m, the biggest of the bunch making Hancock 2 the most likely. Finally I, Robot brought in $343m.
While there is still no word of any of these movies being made any time soon, we could still see them happen at some point in the future. With I Am Legend making the most amount of money it is a surprise that they have yet to get a sequel off the ground. Superhero movies are proving hugely popular at the moment so a Hancock sequel could be a success. I, Robot was nominated for an Oscar so again would prove a wise choice.
With that said, the fact of the matter is that we will just have to wait and see if any of these movies can get out of development and into production. Fingers crossed.
