After Earth was not one of Will Smith’s greatest success, but that won’t keep the actor down. After horrible reviews posted around the internet of After Earth, Will Smith keeps looking forward. Three projects are floating around with Will Smith’s name on them. While he has not officially signed on the movies, he is producing the remake of Annie.
Will Smith may or may not be in Independence Day 2. Reportedly, there are two scripts written, one with Will Smith and one without. 20 years after the original Independence Day, the sequel is not set to release until July 3, 2015. Which one will be made is still up in the air.
Selling Time may have Will Smith for the lead. Selling Time is a supernatural thriller where a man makes a deal to relive the worst day of his life. The catch is, by reliving that day, it takes seven years of his life expectancy. Will Smith has not officially signed on to this project, but chances are good that he will take the lead role.
That is not all Will Smith is doing, he is also remaking the musical Annie with Jay Z. Will Smith will be the producer. There have been conflicting reports of who will actually play Annie, Will Smith’s daughter or Quvenzhane Wallis. Either way, Smith has a lot on his plate. Seems he is trying to redeem himself from the flop of After Earth.
