Genesis Rodriguez recently was interviewed at San Diego's Comic Con and she shocked many of her fans and entertainment observers during her discussion of her upcoming movie "Tusk" which she discussed at the convention while looking her usual gorgeous 'self'.
The movie is a Kevin Smith project and she noted how it is the "strangest , most awesome script" she had ever read and she fell in love with the movie which revolves around a man captured by a maniac and is physically tortured mentally and physically into becoming a walrus.
In the movie she plays Allison, Justin Long's girlfriend who notices that her boyfriend is missing and goes out looking for him.
She reveals how after Kevin Smith watched her work on the first day he surprised her the next day with 14 pages of dialogue that he wrote specifically for her including a monologue. For her the script and the dialogue was a blessing which literally took her breathe aways as it encompassed the type of 'meaty' dialogue she has been waiting her entire career to have the opportunity to do.
Her statement was intriguing and caught the attention of many fans and entertainment observers as some are anticipating that this could be the role in which she shows her dramatic range and leads to her receiving more opportunities to play the role of leading lady.
Fans of the actress known for her telenovela roles might look back at the 2014 San Diego Comic Con convention one day and consider it the moment when she provided 'notice' of her breakout role in the Kevin Smith film "Tusk." When a director of his stature provides 14 pages of dialogue in a movie it generally suggests that he thinks he might have come upon an actress of superior acting ability and that person in this case is Genesis Rodriguez.
Hollywood, meet Genesis Rodriguez, leading lady.
