Back in 1988, Hollywood director Ron Howard treated us to the movie Willow, which starred Val Kilmer and Warwick Davis. While Willow was not exactly a smash hit at the box office, it has become a cult classic over the years, with a growing fan base around the World.
Since become such a fan favourite, there has been plenty of rumours about a Willow sequel getting made but so far it has yet to happen. Warwick Davis has spoken on many occasions about wanting to make a Willow sequel and he even claimed that Val Kilmer was interested in being involved.
The one issue with getting a Willow sequel made is getting Ron Howard to agree to direct the movie, which seems highly unlikely. Ron has a lot of projects in the works and it is doubtful that he would want to give up any of those for Willow 2, so a replacement director would be needed.
While we have yet to see any real movement on a Willow sequel, it did become the inspiration for the Ricky Gervais project Life's Too Short, which was a typical Ricky Gervais mockumentary, which followed Warwick Davis around, as he tried to get Willow 2 made. Hopefully, it will one day become a reality.
