It is hard to believe that it has been almost eight years now since we first got to see the impressive 2008 movie Cloverfield, which went on to achieve huge global success. Cloverfield impressed fans and critics alike and it was not long after the release of the movie, that talk soon turned to the possibility of a Cloverfield sequel being made.
It was not only the fans and the critics that were talking about Cloverfield 2 hitting the big screen, as there were also some members of the cast who spoke about it happening. It was not too long after the success of Cloverfield, that the stars of the movie suggested that the Cloverfield sequel was going to happen.
There was talk of Lizzy Caplan making a return for Cloverfield 2, despite the fact it looked like she died in the movie, while Odette Annable admitted that she had heard word from a producer, that a Cloverfield sequel was in the works, although she did admit that she thought it was doubtful that any of the original cast would return.
In 2010, J.J. Abrams spoke about the possibility of a Cloverfield sequel, while Matt Reeves admitted that there are always rumours about Cloverfield 2 happening. There has been no real movement on a Cloverfield sequel, so we think it is highly unlikely that we will get to see one any time soon, if it even happens at all.
