When it was announced that Emily VanCamp had landed a role in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, being cast in the movie Captain America: The Winter Soldier, there were many rumours as to what Marvel character she would be playing. In the beginning the only information we could get was that Emily was playing the role of Agent 13 but, fortunately enough, we all knew that this was none other than Sharon Carter.
In Captain America: The Winter Soldier we got to see Emily VanCamp and Chris Evans begin to start some small talk and almost flirting as Sharon Carter and Steve Rogers. Unfortunately though, we did not get to see the two characters getting too close, although it is likely that this was just the beginning of a future relationship between the two, somewhere down the line in the Marvel movie franchise.
With that in mind, there have been suggestions that we could see Emily VanCamp reprising her role as Sharon Carter in the movie Avengers: Age of Ultron, as they continue to build the relationship between Sharon Carter and Steve Rogers, before the two really become a serious couple in Captain America 3. For now though, there has yet been any confirmation on the rumour and it is just wishful thinking.
We are big fans of Emily VanCamp and thought she did a fantastic job as Sharon Carter in Captain America: The Winter Soldier, which is why we would love to see her reprise the role for Avengers: Age of Ultron. If not, then we guess we will just have to wait for Captain America 3.
