Will we see Luke Skywalker's wife in Star Wars: Episode VII?

  • Star Wars: Episode VII is currently being written
  • The movie will focus on the children of the original characters
  • But will we get to see Luke Skywalker's wife?
The screenplay for Star Wars: Episode VII is currently being penned by Michael Arndt and there have been plenty of rumours about what the new Star Wars film will centre around. The biggest rumour is that Star Wars: Episode VII will focus on the children of the original characters, Luke Skywalker, Han Solo and Leia Skywalker.
Luke Skywalker in Star Wars movie

Now we all know that Han Solo and Leia Skywalker ended up together at the end of Return of the Jedi but we did not see who Luke Skywalker ended up with. For those of you who are unfamiliar with Star Wars, beyond the movies, Luke does go on to marry and have a son.

Luke Skywalker meets Mara Jade and, while they have a bit of a rocky relationship at first, they end up falling in love, getting married and having a son, who they name Ben Skywalker, after Obi Wan Kenobi. However their marriage comes to a very tragic end, when Mara Jade ends up being killed.

With that said, if Star Wars: Episode VII is going to focus on the children of the original characters, will we get to see Luke Skywalker's wife Mara Jade or will she have already passed on? Well, we will all just have to wait for the script to be complete before we get any sort of idea but we certainly hope she appears in the movie in some way, shape or form.

Star Wars: Episode VII will be directed by J.J. Abrams and is expected to be released worldwide in 2015.
