Woody Allen wins Best Original Screenplay and The Descandants wins Best Adapted Screenplay at the Oscars 2012

The return to the Oscars 2012 and once again Billy Crystal is cracking jokes and playing the crowd to great effect. Billy introduced Angelina Jolie to the stage who, looking as gorgeous as ever, was on the stage to announce the nominees for Best Adapted Screenplay. The nominees included The Descendants, Hugo, The Ides of March, Moneyball and Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy.

The five films are all worthy of winning the Oscar for Best Adapted Screenplay but unfortunately there can only be one winner. Angelina Jolie then revealed that the winner of the Oscar for the Best Adapted Screenplay goes to Alexander Payne, Nat Faxon and Jim Rash for their work on the movie The Descendants. The three guys kept their speeches short and sweet.
Angelina Jolie stayed on the stage to introduce the nominees for Best Original Screenplay. The nominees were Michel Hazanavicius for The Artist, Annie Mumolo & Kristen Wiig for Bridesmaids, J.C. Chandor for Margin Call, Woody Allen for Midnight in Paris and Asghar Farhadi for A Separation. The winner of the Oscar for Best Original Screenplay went to Woody Allen, who unfortunately could not attend.
