When you think of the movie Avatar, the first thing that comes to mind is the fact that it is the highest grossing movie of all time but, what some people fail to realise, is that the movie is also the most expensive film to ever be made by Fox. Fortunately though, the worldwide gross made it all worth while.
It has now been confirmed that the upcoming movie X-Men: Days of Future Past is the most expensive movie that Fox have made, since the release of Avatar. This is seen as a bit of a gamble by many, who feel that the X-Men franchise is on the slide, while never really being a huge money-making franchise.
It has not been officially confirmed exactly how much money has been spent on X-Men: Days of Future Past but it is believed to be over $250m and it easy to see how so much has been spent. X-Men: Days of Future Past has a huge all-star cast and will feature some CGI Sentinels, all of which add up.
The X-Men: Days of Future Past trailer did not exactly give the feeling that this huge amount of money has been spent but we are still eagerly anticipating the release of the movie and will be interested to see how the gross compares to the budget. X-Men: Days of Future Past opens on May 22, 2014 in the UK and May 23, 2014 in the US.
