Legendary Bollywood filmmaker Yash Chopra has died at the age of 80. Yash had been ill for quite a while and was diagnosed with an attack of dengue before being admitted to Lilavati hospital in suburban Bandra on October 13.

Yash has made a name for himself over the past fifty years as being one of the best directors in Bollywood history. Chopra has had a whole host of hit movies that include Deewar, Trishul, Chandni, Silsila and Veer Zaara to name but a few and also has many, many more.
Yash Chopra became known in the business as being one of the best directors at bringing the classic Bollywood love story to the screen, as well as making a number of impressive action movies. Yash celebrated his 80th birthday a few weeks back and after he was admitted to hospital he had a number of visitors including Shah Rukh Khan and Rani Mukerji.

The news of Yash Chopra’s death comes weeks before the release of his latest movie Jab Tak Hai Jaan, which stars Katrina Kaif, Shah Rukh Khan and Anushka Sharma. Jab Tak Hai Jaan is set to be released on November 13.
