Michael Wayne Atha otherwise known as Yelawolf is an American Hip Hop Artist from Gadsden Alabama. He was signed in 2011, by Eminem to Shady Records Inc. His first album Radioactive under this label, was released on November 21st 2011 and debuted at #27 on Billboards 200. Is it his mere talent that has carried Yelawolf or the fame of his mentor?
Anyone who had never heard Yelawolf's music would simple answer the latter. However, Marshall Mathers knows talent when he sees it. Yelawolf truly is unique to his talent and may give his mentor a run for his money yet. In the industry there are not too many artists who are willing to rap with what they know, how they feel and are able to get away with it. Like is mentor before him, Yelawolf has broken barriers and has shown the world where you are from and the color of your skin has nothing to do with how much skill one can possess, when it comes to rhyme.
With song's such as "Hard White, (Up In The Club), "Let's Roll" featuring Kid Rock, and "No hands". Yelawolf's use of his inspirations and heavy Dub Step influenced beats, Make him unique in his field. This also does not account for the mad rhyming scheme's and technique's that say Yelawolf.
Twenty years ago, some white kid from Alabama to be in this industry just didn't happen. Yelawolf's very own mentor changed that, paving the way for future emcee's like Yelawolf. With Eminem focusing on himself.it is hard to determine what is next for Yelawolf, however one thing is for certain. Whatever Yelawolf has in store for us this time, we can be sure that his delivery will not only surprise us, it could very well blow us away.
