Yuna Ito is an American born woman who has roots in Japan and Korea. She is one of the many new modern breed of entertainers who is was born in the states but has superstar status in foreign countries. Yuna Ito is not a famous entertainer in America but in Japan, she is idolized by the masses.
Ito was offered a record contract during her teenage years but it was not until she moved to Japan in 2003 that she was able to get her big break. Keep in mind that Yuna was born in Los Angeles and lived in Hawaii up until she graduated from high school. After school was over for Yuna, she knew that Japan would be the place to make her mark.
The nation of Japan is the premiere Asian country that has a culture that is similar to many western countries. Since this is the case, Yuna knew that she could get her big break in this country. Young Yuna knew how to speak Japanese from her father and being exposed to his culture at an early age.
She released her first single “Endless Story” in 2005 and it wasn’t until she did a duet with Celine Dion in 2008 for a song called Anata ga Iru Kagiri: A World To Believe In. Her duet with Dion is still remembered as one of the best hits within the recent era. Ito had her own radio show called Journey and it lasted until 2006. Ito is currently still performing in Japan and still is enjoying success in this nation. This young star is living proof that some American entertainers can do better overseas than at home.
