Star Trek actor Zachary Quinto has revealed that he did not inform anybody who already knew that he was gay, that he was actually going to come out as gay to the general public. Zachary admitted that he wanted to do the whole coming out thing on his own terms and did not want to be influenced by anyone else’s views on the matter.
Quinto explained, "I didn't tell anybody I was going to do it. I didn't tell my agent, I didn't tell my business partners, I didn't tell my publicists. It's so funny, because obviously it was a huge decision for me, and I made it in a specific way. It was very much on my terms. But I never thought beyond the action of doing it. I never thought about the reaction it would generate. Honestly."
Zachary Quinto came out as being gay back in October 2011, after learning of a teenage boy who had committed suicide due to homophobic bullying back in September 2011. Zachary Quinto and the rest of the cast and crew from Star Trek 2 began filming this week, with the current release date expected to be on May 17, 2013.
