With Marvel leading the way with hit comic book movies, DC have been turning to their big guns to help them in their battle. DC have already recently enjoyed success with the Christopher Nolan Batman trilogy and are now hoping that their other big gun can do the same.

Henry Cavill as Superman in Man of Steel
DC have a good history with Superman movies and are set to release their latest reboot Man of Steel next year. It has been claimed that DC are hoping to make Superman into a multi-movie success like Batman and that we can expect a Man of Steel sequel to follow.
However, Man of Steel director Zack Snyder has been keeping tight lipped about a possible Man of Steel 2, saying, “We like to take it one step at a time and not curse anything. It's that kind of thing so we'll see what happens.”

DC's big guns Superman and Batman
With that said, DC are planning a Justice League movie for 2015, which is likely to star Man of Steel’s Henry Cavill as Superman. This means that a Man of Steel sequel would probably have to wait until after the Justice League movie, which is likely to be the beginning of DC’s assault for Marvel’s crown.
Man of Steel is set to be released on June 14, 2013 in both the US and the UK.
