When it was revealed that British music star Zayn Malik had decided to quit the boyband One Direction, there were millions of devastated fans around the world, but they were not the only ones who were disappointed by his decision. As well as the fans being upset, it seems that his bandmates were also disappointed that he wanted to bring their journey to an end.
Since leaving One Direction, there have been plenty of rumours about the state of the relationships between Zayn Malik and his former bandmates, and the singer has now come out to talk openly about the situation. Zayn says that, while he has not seen any of the lads for quite a while now, he is still quite close to Liam Payne.
Malik was chatting to NME magazine about his relationship with his former One Direction bandmates, when he explained, "I'm still probably the closest to Liam. We talk on the phone. He congratulated me on my single, which was nice. I congratulated him on his Brit Award (One Direction received the British Video Award for Drag Me Down). It was a good chat. We haven't met up in a long time so we want to meet up."
However, while Zayn Malik is still on regularly speaking terms with Liam Payne, it seems that the same cannot be said about his relationship with Harry Styles, Louis Tomlinson, and Niall Horan. The Pillowtalk singer added, "I tried to have contact but nobody's reached out. So... whatever." We are sure that the will come around in due time.
The remaining four One Direction boys have since decided to go on their own hiatus, with plenty of rumours about what they are now going to do with their career. We look forward to seeing what does happen.
