It seems so long ago now, that music superstar Zayn Malik almost threw away his chance at fame and fortune, when he walked off the stage during the boot camp section of his The X Factor auditions. How grateful he must be to Simon Cowell for coming and convincing him to get back on the stage and see the process through, as it really has changed his life in such a huge way.
Since then, Zayn Malik went on to form the boyband One Direction, who became the biggest boyband on the planet, before then deciding to go off and pursue his very own solo career. Zayn has been enjoying success out on his own but is he beginning to miss his former boyband? Well his recent comments certainly make it sound that way.
Malik says in his new autobiography, "I can honestly say I'm proud of a lot of stuff from the One Direction days. I'm not sure people realize that, but I am. I've got the memorabilia - the platinum discs we received with every album - all over my house. I have a wall dedicated to displaying them (memorabilia)."
He added, "One Direction was an incredible experience in its own right, and it's a part of me, an integral part of my history, and I'm never going to deny that aspect of my life. I got to meet amazing fans, and I can never thank all of them enough for the love and support they gave me during the good times, and the bad."
We have no doubt that we are going to see a full One Direction reunion in the future but it could well be quite a few more years before it does finally happen.
