The relationship between Ziva David and Tony DiNozzo on the hit television series NCIS has been one of the most popular topics among fans of the show. Many fans literally went into depression when CBS announced that she would not be returning in season 11 but the show's creators have kept the interest very high about her character by not saying that she has left the show for good.
Cote de Pablo has not spoken recently about whether she will be coming back to the show and she does not use social media so fans have no idea what her thoughts are about returning to the show.
However, some events have transpired that suggest that she might be coming back but the question is for how long. The executive producer of the show Gary Glasberg has indicated that a new love interest might be coming to Tony DiNozzo and if that does happen he believes it would be only natural for him to talk to Ziva about it and this is where fans can hold out some hope.
It is possible that if a relationship does begin that a "talk" would take place and very likely in NCIS season 12.
Another reason why fans might receive a return of Cote de Pablo, the actress who plays Ziva David, to NCIS for a short period is the fact that she is returning to CBS to film a four-hour miniseries "The Dovekeepers" for 2015. The show is based on a novel about four women whose lives crisscross as they fight for survival at the siege of Masada.
NCIS is a CBS produced show so she is still part of the CBS family.
The producers of NCIS have made assurances that they will handle the situation properly but if one is reading the 'tea leaves', it looks as if Ziva David's return to NCIS, if it does occur, will be short but there is a strong possibility of it happening.
Fans of the actress will still have other opportunities to see her as she has filmed the movie "33" based on the true story of the rescued Chilean miners in 2010.
