Actress Zooey Deschanel, who has starred in such big screen hits as (500) Days of Summer with Joseph Gordon-Levitt, has revealed how she is delighted to be part of the new television show New Girl. Zooey admitted that she felt like the role was specifically written for her, as she loved it so much.
Deschanel explained, "I just happened to read this script. I was so blown away by how perfect it was for me and how funny it was, and sweet, and smart. I just fell in love with this project." Zooey then compared coming across the role to coming across a new dress.
She added, "I think it was kind of an actor/writer kismet situation. It's like, you go to a store and there’s a dress that just looks like it was made for you, but it wasn’t. That's sort of like what it was like." New Girl is set to premiere on Fox tonight and will air every Tuesday night.
