The second season of Homeland saw the death of multiple main characters as well as the start of Sergeant Nicholas Brody [Damian Lewis] being hunted. Last we saw of Carrie Mathison [Claire Danes] and Saul Berenson [Mandy Patinkin], they were reuniting after the terrorist bombing and the reveal on the news of Brody's terrorist connections. Fans have been anticipating the third season for a long time, and we've finally gotten out first real glimpse at the plot of Season 3.

Rupert Friend will be returning for Season 3
Showtime just gave a press release detailing the plot, which is given as, "'Homeland' Season 3 opens during the aftermath of the terrorist attack that capped Season 2 and prompted Nicholas Brody to flee the country -- with the help of Carrie Mathison. The new season also finds Carrie and Saul (Mandy Patinkin) begin to rebuild their personal and professional lives in the middle of a media firestorm about the terrorist attack and search for Brody."
The release adds that Morena Baccarin, Jackson Pace, Rupert Friend, and Morgan Saylor will be coming back for the third season in addition to Danes, Lewis, and Patinkin.
