Spanish actress Ivana Baquero may only be 19 years of age but she has made a very impressive reputation for herself as an exceptionally gifted actress with her performances in Spain and also in the United States in the Hollywood film "The New Daughter".
In her latest role as the lead actress in the movie "The Misunderstood Club" she plays Mari, a young woman who keeps to herself, is quiet and is very mysterious. To play this role the Goya winning actress had to completely lose herself because the character is completely foreign to who she is as a person.
Ivana Baquero outside of acting is a very outgoing individual so to play Mari required a drastic change in her physical appearance beginning with the dying of hair and making it a red colour from her customary brown colour, having her character wear glasses and dressing in baggy clothes.
The acting performances of Ivana Baquero who is also a law student, has made her an in-demand commodity both in Spain and the United States due to the lasting impression she left in 2009 with her performance as the daughter of American film star Kevin Costner in the movie "The New Daughter". She disclosed in a recent interview that filming on the American set with "The Bodyguard" star was a great experience but she "loves working in Spain".
She possesses a dramatic acting range that is well beyond her years and her ability to identify the different dimensions of a character is a talent that will continue to bring her offers from filmmakers in Spain and the United States to be in their films but for the moment, the lover of Spain will next be seen on the big screen as Mari in "The Misunderstood Club".
