Is Alex Pettyfer being made an example by Hollywood filmmakers and executives? This is a question that is starting to be debated among some U.S. entertainment observers after one of his earlier movies, 'Beastly' was shown on network television. In the movie he showed his superb leading man talent opposite Vanessa Hudgens and Mary Kate-Olsen and left many viewers and entertainment insiders predicting that he would become a leading man star in the future.

However, it has recently emerged on the set he was surly, arrogant and disrespectful and by the time the movie premiered he was not a very popular person with his colleagues and was developing a well-earned reputation of being a 'bad boy' without reason to be bad. This behaviour continued even when on the set of 'Magic Mike' when working with Hollywood 'It' actor Channing Tatum. So how have Hollywood's power players reacted to his conduct? They seemed to have decided to eliminate him from leading man consideration for films.
His absence as a leading man has become very noticeable recently because of his past superb movie performances in projects such as 'Beastly' but his plight shows how much Hollywood has changed and the importance of an actor listening to his agent and being prepared how to handle success.

Hollywood is no longer willing to tolerate poor conduct from anyone, even Charlie Sheen who made 'Two and a Half Men' a ratings sensation but still was fired for disrespectful behavior. Alex Pettyfer was nowhere near the star that Charlie Sheen was and as such he likely provided Hollywood filmmakers the perfect individual with whom to send 'a message' to young actors that disrespectful conduct will not be tolerated.
The consequences of his actions are now starting to resemble a 'jail sentence' as it has been over three years and he has not received a 'sniff' of a leading man role and some entertainment observers are hearing that until he can demonstrate that he is mature enough to handle the responsibilities of a lead actor and work with directors he is not going to be a lead actor on a big screen project.
Seems like Alex Pettyfer and his agent might have to start visiting people from his past and present and start making some apologies, public and private or one of the more talented male actors will not be gracing the big screen of a Hollywood or English project in the foreseeable future.
