There were quite a few raised eyebrows, when it was announced that the X-Men movie franchise was going to go back in time and bring us the younger versions of a number of our favourite mutant superheroes. However, X-Men: First Class managed to win over most of the critics, with X-Men: Days of Future Past taking the franchise to the next level. Next up, we have the movie X-Men: Apocalypse, which looks set to continue raising the bar.

In X-Men: Apocalypse, we will get to see the introduction of a number of the younger versions of some of the X-Men characters from the original trilogy, including the introduction of Ororo Munroe aka Storm. In the original X-Men trilogy, Storm was played by the Oscar-winning actress Halle Berry, so new star Alexandra Shipp certainly has some big shoes to fill, taking over the role for X-Men: Apocalypse.
We have seen plenty of pictures and videos from the set of X-Men: Apocalypse and the latest image shows us Alexandra Shipp in her full Storm costume, looking better than we ever could have imagined. Alexandra is clearly channeling her inner Halle Berry, as she looks to live up to expectations and give us the perfect introduction to a fans favourite comic book character.

It is not clear where the X-Men movie franchise is going after X-Men: Apocalypse, with a number of the stars of the movies bringing their contracts to an end. We would like to see the franchise moving on but, without the big stars and the important characters, it is unclear how it will work.
X-Men: Apocalypse is set to hit the big screen on May 19 in the UK and on May 27 in the US.
