Well it is that time of year again, when talk begins to turn to the Oscars 2016 and who we can expect to see nominated for the Academy Awards and who is likely to leave victorious. Well, one name that has been on the lips of many people, is the beautiful and talented actress Alicia Vikander, for her performance in the upcoming movie The Danish Girl.
While we have yet to actually see the film ourselves, it has been getting plenty of rave reviews, with Alicia Vikander the standout performer on the movie. Obviously it is not cut and dry, and Alicia will no doubt face stiff competition from other top actresses but, for now, she is being tipped to be in the running at the Oscars 2016.
We are sure that plenty of you already know a fair bit about The Danish Girl but, for those of you wanting to know what to expect from the movie, it has been officially described as, "The remarkable love story inspired by the lives of artists Lili Elbe and Gerda Wegener. Lili and Gerda's marriage and work evolve as they navigate Lili's groundbreaking journey as a transgender pioneer."
As well as starring Alicia Vikander, The Danish Girl cast also includes plenty of other top Hollywood names, including the likes of Amber Heard, Ben Whishaw, and Eddie Redmayne, to name just a few. The Danish Girl has been directed by Tom Hooper, based on the screenplay that Lucinda Coxon developed from the David Ebershoff novel, with the movie set to hit the big screen on November 27 in the US and January 7, 2016 in the UK.
