When it comes to a battle of the big screen between Marvel and DC, it is fair to say that Marvel are running away with things and continue bringing us a number of impressive movies every year. With that said, there is still a shortage of strong female characters in the Marvel movies, with Scarlett Johansson leading the way for the female comic book characters as Black Widow.

Anthony Mackie plays Falcon
Hollywood actor Anthony Mackie made his Marvel movie debut as the Falcon in the movie Captain America: The Winter Soldier and he has been speaking about the lack of strong female role models in comic book movies. Rather than talking about which female characters he would like to see in Marvel movies, Anthony says that Warner Bros. and DC need to do everything in their power to make a Wonder Woman movie.
Mackie told Geekdad.com, "Scarlett [Johansson] does great representation of [Black Widow] for all the other girls, but there should be a Wonder Woman movie. I don't care if they make 20 bucks, if there's a movie you're gonna lose money on, make it Wonder Woman. You know what I mean, because little girls deserve that. There's so many of these little people out here doing awful things for money in the world of being famous. And little girls see that. They should have the opposite spectrum of that to look up to."

Wonder Woman is coming to the big screen
It is expected that a Wonder Woman movie will eventually hit the big screen, as the character is being introduced to the DC Cinematic Universe in the upcoming movie Batman vs. Superman. Actress Gal Gadot will play the role of Wonder Woman in Batman vs. Superman and will no doubt get a standalone movie following that.
