Ashley's boyfriend, Ryan Good, does seem like he's head over heels in love with her, and the two have been dating for quite some time. Could he have gone ahead and popped the question? The two did initially break up a while back, but rekindled their relationship a couple of months ago. Since then, they're been dating steady, and this could have been the perfect way for them to move forward in their relationship.
We also know that Ashley's not scared of commitment, since she's previously told Seventeen, "Relationships can be scary because once you’re in one, you have to face the idea of breaking up or staying together forever."

Alas, E! Online claims that the ring on Ashley's finger was not an engagement ring, and that Ashley and Ryan are not getting engaged. Ashley's rep has yet to comment, but if E! Online's source claims that it's not happening, it's probably not happening. Sure, it's possible that Ashley and Ryan might be trying to keep it a secret, but it's more likely that they're just waiting to see what happens. After all, they are very young and Ashley's career has just started taking off, what with the success of Pretty Little Liars and Spring Breakers.
