There are so many models who would love to appear in the annual publication of Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue, with a huge amount of them doing a casting call to make their debut in the magazine. Those making their debut in the publication will make up the Rookie Class and battle it out for the Rookie of the Year award, which has previously been one by some top names in the industry.
With the Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue 2016 just around the corner, we have already been hearing some of the names who will appear in the Rookie Class this year. It was first announced that the stunning Hungarian model Barbara Palvin will make her debut in the publication, which was then followed by the news that she will be up against the gorgeous Ashley Graham for that Rookie of the Year award.
Ashley Graham enjoyed a huge year in 2015 and it looks like 2016 is set to get even bigger but, while just appearing in the Rookie Class for Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue 2016 is a great achievment in itself, landing on the cover is even bigger. If Ashley was to make it to the cover of the publication it would make history, as she would become the first ever plus-size model to earn the honour.
With that said, there are plenty of beautiful models all eager to appear on the Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue 2016 cover, so there is definitely plenty of competition. We guess we will just have to wait and see!
