Christine Baranski has been around for quite some time and is probably one of the most under-appreciated actresses for a talent that has spanned 36 years and counting. She made her Off-Broadway debut at the age of 28 in Coming Attractions, but she stole the show when she appeared as Cybill Shepherd’s side kick in the sitcom Cybill. Her acting chops for comedy were very much apparent. She often swept in and garnered the critics’ attention and rave reviews for her delivery of comedic work during the 1995-1998 run of the show.

Christine Baranski has been in some big movies and tv shows
She has that chameleon quality that has helped her transform to fit any role, from Birdcage to Chicago to The Big Bang Theory, where she pops up periodically in cameo’s as Leonard’s over baring, but funny psych mom. Her willingness to reinvent herself to take on different roles and not let herself be stereotyped into the same roll again and again has made her a regular go to for stand out acting opportunities. When The Good Wife came a knocking she did not hesitate to sink her acting chops into a dramatic role different from her previous work.
The Good Wife's character she plays has given her the chance to have nuances that border on sticking strictly to the law or skirting its boundaries like an expert trapeze artist. The character Diane often wrestles with her conscience to do what is ethically right or to do what’s in the best interest of her client and all the while balancing it with a right wing attitude that juggles friendships and love life in a delicate fabric that sometimes appears close to shredding.
