The Marvel Cinematic Universe has slowly but surely brought us some very strong female characters, with actress Scarlett Johansson playing the role of Black Widow since Iron Man 2. For the past few years now, there has been calls for a standalone Black Widow movie, which has yet to happen. Now, actor Clark Gregg, who plays Phil Coulson, has begged Marvel to make the film happen.

Gregg sat down to chat with the guys over at Digital Spy, when he explained to them, "Black Widow has been around from day one of this and is portrayed with this kind of heavy-hearted ferocity by Scarlett Johansson - who I think is as good as any actor working today."
He then went on to say, "It seems like it would be tragic, it would be a waste, if that character wasn't given the spotlight in the way that some of the other characters have been. If I know Marvel, they won't let that happen, because she's too valuable an asset." We couldn't agree more.

For now though, we will just have to make do with seeing Scarlett Johansson playing Black Widow in other Marvel movies, with the actress appearing in the upcoming movie Captain America: Civil War, which will hit the big screen on April 29 in the UK, before then opening on May 6 in the US. As well as that Scarlett will also appear as Black Widow in both of the Avengers: Infinity War films, which many people have suggested could be her last.
Do you think Scarlett Johansson deserves to get her very own Black Widow movie in the Marvel Cinematic Universe?
