There has been talk of a Ghostbusters 3 movie being made for years and years now, with no actual progress really being made on the project. Just when you think you have finally heard the last of a Ghostbusters 3 film, someone brings up the subject again and the talk returns that a Ghostbusters 3 movie being made.

Dan Aykroyd is still confident of a Ghostbusters 3
We have heard a lot of noise coming from Dan Aykroyd this year, with the Ghostbusters star insisting that a Ghostbusters 3 movie is definitely going to happen. Dan has now revealed his huge ambitions for the Ghostbusters franchise, insisting that he wants to do something similar to what Marvel have achieved.
Aykroyd was chatting to the guys over at The Hollywood Reporter, when he told them, "It’s beyond just another sequel, a prequel, another TV show. I’m thinking what does the whole brand mean to Sony? What does Pixar and Star Wars mean to Disney? What does Marvel mean to Fox?"

Will we ever see another Ghostbusters movie?
He added, "It’s up on blocks, it needs new electronics, new everything. That’s what we have to do. The whole vehicle of Ghostbusters has to be rebuilt. That’s the ambitious thinking that’s going on now. Taking on the model of Marvel where we take all of the elements that are in this movie and we put them out there as different ideas.”
There has even been talk of a possible all female Ghostbusters movie being made but, as always seems to be the case with Ghostbusters talk, we will not get our hopes up. Don't expect to see a new Ghostbusters movie any time soon.
