While there were a lot of people who were expecting things to be a little difficult for Manchester United this season, nobody could have predicted just how bad they would actually be. Manchester United are having their worst season in the history of the English Premier League but there could be a light at the end of the tunnel, in the form of a new takeover bid.

Some of the United old boys
It has been claimed that an Arab oil billionaire is looking to buy Manchester United and is lining up the Manchester United stars from the Class of 92, David Beckham, Paul Scholes, Ryan Giggs, Nicky Butt, Phill Neville and Gary Neville, to front the takeover bid. It is hoped that by having these Manchester United legends on board, the fans will be more accepting to the takeover.
The six Manchester United legends are said to be in detailed talks with the men putting up the money, to put together a consortium that will buy out the club from the American Glazer family, who currently own 90% of the club. It is believed that the takeover could be funded by the Qatari royal family, with the aid of David Beckham's connections.

Paul Scholes is involved in the bid
It is expected that this takeover bid coud take some time to go through, if it does go through at all but, if it does eventually go ahead, it will be interesting to see what other changes happen at the club. What will happen to David Moyes? How much money will they have to spend on players? We will just have to wait and see.
Update: It has now been confirmed that Ryan Giggs, Nicky Butt, Paul Scholes, Gary Neville and Phill Neville have agreed to buy non-league club Salford City. Only a little bit of a difference there then.
