British singer Ed Sheeran has spoken out in defence of his good friend Taylor Swift, who has developed a reputation for being a serial dater over the years. Ed insists that this is certainly not tha case and that it has all been blown out of proportion by the media.

Sheeran told OK! Magazine, "The rumor that she dates a lot of people is a misconception. In the time that I’ve known her, which has been almost two years now, she has dated two people. Fact. In her entire life I think she’s dated around five or six people."
He added, "I don’t like when people take shots at [Taylor] because I do know her personally and I think people get the wrong end of the stick. She’s so successful and she’s so nice and sweet to everyone that she meets. There is nothing bad to say but she was being pictured with a lot of dudes!"

With that said, since breaking onto the music scene, Taylor Swift has been romantically linked to a number of stars, including Harry Styles, Jake Gyllenhaal, Joe Jonas and, who could forget, Harry Styles and that is just a few of them. However, as is always the case with celebrities, it is almost impossible for two stars of the opposite sex to have a friendship, without dating rumours appearing.
