There is nothing quite as exciting as the Awards season in Hollywood and, with the 2015 Oscars just a few weeks away, things are really beginning to heat up, especially following the announcement of the nominations, which took place today. While there are a lot of expected nominations, there are a few little surprises and, what we have noticed, is the amount of British stars on the list.
Eddie Redmayne has been nominated for Best Actor

Hollywood has seen a growing number of British stars beginning to make a name for themselves over the past couple of years and it looks like they have really made an impact, especially with the guys of the Academy. There are a number of British stars that have been nominated for the Oscars 2015 and it looks like the night could end up being dominated by them.

British actor Eddie Redmayne has been nominated for the Best Actor Oscar, for his role in the movie The Theory of Everything, which will see him go head to head with fellow Brit Benedict Cumberbatch, for his role in The Imitation Game. Meanwhile, actress Rosamund Pike has been nominated for the Best Actress Oscar, for her role in Gone Girl, which will see her go head to head with fellow Brit Felicity Jones, for her role in The Theory of Everything.

They are not finished there though, as British actress Keira Knightley has also been nominated for an Academy Award, as she is up for the Best Supporting Actress Oscar, for her performance in The Imitation Game. That means we could see a British star walk away with three of the biggest awards of the night, which would really make a statement about the amount of British talent we have in Hollywood at the moment.

The 2015 Oscars will take place on February 22 and it looks like it could be a very interesting evening indeed.
