There was once a time when a lot of people used to compare Hollywood superstar Emma Stone to fellow actress Lindsay Lohan, which is understandable considering they have a similar look about them and used to appear in similar types of roles in their movies. Well, while Lindsay has gone on to see her acting career continue on a downward spiral, Emma has seen hers going from strength to strength.
That rise from Emma Stone in Hollywood was complete as she went on to win the Best Actress Oscar at the 2017 Academy Awards, showing that she is now up their with the elite stars in the business and has become one of the biggest stars in the acting industry. Emma will not want to rest on her laurels though, as she has plenty more new projects coming our way, including the new film Battle of the Sexes.
As most of you probably already know, Emma Stone will play the role of former tennis superstar Billie Jean King, with Battle of the Sexes focusing on that legendary tennis match back in 1973, which saw the then women's world number one, taking on the former tennis player, and well know hustler Bobby Riggs, in a tennis match which was supposed to decide which sex was better at the sport.
As well as seeing Emma Stone in the role of Billie Jean King, Battle of the Sexes will also see Steve Carell taking on the role of Bobby Riggs, with a supporting cast including such stars as Elisabeth Shue, Alan Cumming, Natalie Morales, and Andrea Riseborough, among others. Battle of the Sexes has been directed by Jonathan Dayton and Valerie Faris, with the film ready to open some time in 2017.
