It seems that England football fans simply cannot help themselves when it comes to being negative about the national team. If there was a competition for moaning then the England fans would have a very good shot at winning it, after more negative comments.

England faced San Marino in a World Cup Qualifier last night and coasted to a comfortable 5-0 victory but that was not enough to satisfy the England fans. Many complained that the result was not enough and insisted that England should have scored more goals.
Then there were others that have called for manager Roy Hodgson to be sacked because of his negative tactics. It is all very ridiculous, as England battered San Marino in every aspect of the game. England had 84% of the possession during the game and also managed 33 shots on goal.

Those are not exactly stats of a negative team but there is no pleasing the England fans. Roy Hodgson remains unbeaten in open play as England manager, with his only defeat coming against Italy in a penalty shoot out in the European Championships earlier this year.
It would be interesting to see how these negative football fans would react if England did actually go on to win a major tournament. No doubt they would actually find a way of being negative about it.
