British singer Example has admitted that, rather than going to try and break America, he would rather America came and found him. Example did claim that he would enjoy plying over there but stated that he would rather they discovered his music, instead of trying to force himself on them.
Example explained, "In America in general bass music in general seems to be kicking off. Drum and bass has been there for years but really now Americans are going mad for dubstep...college radio are going nuts for it. For me, making the music that I make, I'm sure I could go around and tour clubs and tour festivals and be successful.”
The 28 year old continued, "Americans are aware of it. It's either got to be what Tinie [Tempah] has done - 'Written in the Stars' essentially sounds like a lot of American pop songs - ... or you go down the bass route. I always say, never try to go and break America, let them come to you or invite you over." Example’s latest single ‘Changed The Way You Kissed Me’ looks set to top the UK singles chart.
