Plans for the movie adaptation of 'Fifty Shades of Grey' are coming along slowly but surely, and plans regarding casting are also beginning to get underway.

The Hollywood Reporter states that producers Dana Brunetti and Michael De Luca have drawn up a list of four possible writers, Karen Croner, Dan Fogelman, Veena Sud and Kelly Marcel.
Although writers aren't quite the same household names as some of the directors and actors and actresses linked to the project, the decisions could be an important indicator as to the nature of the film.
Fogelman is the most experienced of the group, but is perhaps most renouned for family friendly 'Bolt' and 'Cars 2', which make him a pretty surprising choice to pen the script for E.L. James' S&M packed book.
Sud has a background in crime, penning the US version of 'The Killing', she's also set to write a version of Alfred Hitchcock's 'Suspicion'. 'Suspicion' could stand her in good stead, being an romantic psychological thriller.
Croner is already working with 'Fifty Shades' studio Universal/Focus, but with a film starring comedians Tina Fey and Paul Rudd, 'Admission'.
Marcel worked on the Fox TV series 'Terra Nova', as well as penning Tom Hanks vehicle 'Saving Mr Banks'.

None of the writers seem like obvious choices for the job, which perhaps tells us something about who will be cast in the movie as main characters Anastasia Steele and Christian Grey.
