Former Hollyoaks babe Gemma Atkinson has revealed how she was instrumental in getting her role as Tamzin, written into the BBC show Casualty. Gemma claims that she suggested the type of character that would be ideal for her and that the producers duly wrote her in.
Atkinson explained, "I did a workshop with the BBC, where I sat down with producers and directors and they asked me what sort of character would I like to play if I were to join Casualty. I thought the obvious choice would be a nurse so I said a paramedic, as I thought that would be something a bit different. They went away and then they called me back a few weeks later and said that they'd like to write me into the series."
Gemma Atkinson shot to fame in the UK, playing the character Lisa Hunter in the Channel 4 show Hollyoaks and went on to star in a spinoff of the show. She has not appeared in a great deal since but will star as Tamzin in Casualty, which airs on Saturday nights on BBC One.
