English Premier League giants Manchester United were once considered the biggest team in Europe, if not the biggest team on the face of the Earth but, following the retirement of their legendary manager Sir Alex Ferguson, things have gone very wrong for the Old Trafford club. However, small progress does seem to be getting made at Manchester United, with new manager Louis Van Gaal over seeing a number of changes at the club.

Louis Van Gaal has already made a number of big money signings and it is expected that he will continue his spending in the January transfer window, as well as next Summer, with his focus being on his leaky defence. One name who has been mentioned as a possible signing for Manchester United, is their former centre back Gerard Pique, who left Old Trafford and signed for Barcelona.
It has now been claimed that Manchester United are eager to resign Gerard Pique, which would see the player returning to the UK, where it is expected that he would once again set up home. With that in mind, it means that we could well see Gerard Pique and Shakira, along with their children, making the move to the UK.

However, if Manchester United do not continue to improve their results, it is unlikely that Gerard Pique would even want to return to Old Trafford, with plenty of other big clubs likely to be interested in the player, should Barcelona be willing to let him leave. It is certainly interesting times at Old Trafford and the next few transfer windows are likely to be very busy. Watch this space!
