Gigi Hadid in an interview with Daily Mail Australia revealed that when she first looked for a modelling agency she constantly was brought to tears after the agencies would reject her and tell her she had to lose weight because she had massive thighs that she had developed while playing elite level volleyball in high school (Yahoo beauty – August 11).
With her mother’s assistance she found a model agency and since then she has risen to model stardom but her story explains to some entertainment and fashion fans the ‘tough edge’ that this attractive model sometimes conveys to fans and the confidence to not care what people may think of her actions.
If one were constantly told that they had to lose weight off their muscular figure and they could not be part of a modelling agency that would likely create an edgy personality and a chip on the shoulder mentality for that model and it seems to have done just that with Gigi Hadid.
Recently the twenty-two year old beauty put herself in contention for ‘girlfriend of the year’ when she organized a surprise birthday party for her boyfriend Joe Jonas in which all of his friends played soccer at the LA Galaxy soccer arena and the next day was spotted leaving his home barefoot as she entered her SUV but what caught the attention of entertainment fans was her unapologetic, confident stance.
She is similar to many young entertainers who are refusing to apologize for living their lives in the manner they choose because they know the hard work, sacrifice and obstacles they have overcome to reach the top levels of their professions and ironically, her confidence has made her more appealing to fans as has the disclosure of her initial rejections from modelling agencies.
