There have been a lot of rumours surrounding Wonder Woman over the past few months, with talks of a television show, a movie or even a role in Batman vs Superman. One thing is for sure, Warner Bros. and DC definitely want to bring her to the screen in some way, shape or form.
Gina Torres has a strong fan base
With that said, there have been a lot of names mentioned as possible candidates for the role of Wonder Woman in the Justice League, which will eventually happen. One name that pops up time and again is Gina Torres, with fans still calling for her to get the role, something which she is very proud of.
Torres recently admitted, "You know, she is a superhero that has been a part of my life since I can remember, and it is incredibly gratifying and heartwarming and wonderful that this campaign continues to have a life — even though it might be maybe three or four people that are keeping it alive. [Big laugh.] I love them! I don't know how realistic it is."
Her fans still call for her to be Wonder Woman
She added, "Of course I would love to do that. Who wouldn't in their right mind? And why not? Well, there are all kinds of reasons why not. But yes, it is a fantasy. And it's a hoot. It's a hoot that every now and then, all these years go by, and people are still thinking that I could do that; I could make that wonderful and they will come and see it. I can't even tell you how that feels."
In all honesty though, it seems highly unlikely that Gina Torres stands any sort of chance of playing Wonder Woman now, although stranger things have happened.
