Alice In Wonderland star Helena Bonham Carter, who is married to director Tim Burton, has signed up for a part in the upcoming big screen version of Great Expectations. She will team up with Jeremy Irvine, who will play Pip and Ralph Fiennes, who will play Magwitch.
Helena is set to play the part of Miss Havisham, who gets left standing at the altar on the day of her wedding. She takes into her home the orphan Pip, Irvine’s character. Jeremy Irvine is also set to star in the Steven Spielberg directed movie Warhorse.
The script for the movie is set to be written by the author of the best seller One Day, David Nicholls. Helena’s husband Tim Burton recently revealed that he will no longer be directing the movie Maleficent, for reasons yet unknown.
