British acting legend Helen Mirren has been working in Hollywood for decades now and is considered one of the top stars on the face of the planet. There were quite a few people who were shocked to hear Helen was joining the Fast and Furious 8 cast, but she is going to fit right in with the fun gang, after having a cheeky little dig at her new co-star Dwayne Johnson.

During a recent chat with Entertainment Weekly, Mirren joked, "I wanted to be driving, but unfortunately, I'm not. Maybe that will come in the future, in 'Fast and Furious 12'. I'm probably one of the few people on the set who know how to drive a gear shift car. I doubt The Rock (Dwayne Johnson) knows!"
While Helen Mirren is a veteran of the Hollywood movie scene, she has admitted that she does feel a little intimidated about going to work on Fast and Furious 8, saying that she is a little nervous about the encounter. Helen feels that the established franchise has made the regular stars into a family and she feels like the newcomer into it all.

Mirren added, "I'm very nervous because when you're going on to a set with people who have been doing this for (so long), basically, they all know each other. They've worked together; they know what they're doing. I'll be, you know, the newcomer, the newbie. I think they'll be nice to me. I hope they'll be nice to me ... I've only got one day, and I'll probably f**k it up, oh God!"
Helen Mirren is not the only newcomer to the Fast and Furious franchise, as Charlize Theron will also join the gang for Fast and Furious 8, with regular star Tyrese Gibson praising the actress for her role in the new movie. Fast and Furious 8 is set to hit the big screen on April 14, 2017 in both the US and the UK.
