At the start of the season in the English Premier League, there were a lot of negative remarks being thrown in the direction of Manchester United, despite the fact that we all knew that there is a rebuilding process going on at the club. Manager Louis Van Gaal has managed to sign some top players now and the club currently find themselves in fourth place in the league.

Ilkay Gundogan has impressed for Borussia Dortmund
However, there is still a lot of work left to do at Old Trafford, with Manchester United still a long way from being the great team we are used to seeing. It is no surprise then that Louis Van Gaal is likely to dip back into the transfer market in the January window, with a number of different players being linked with a potential move to Manchester United.
One player who is being heavily linked to a potential move to Manchester United in the January transfer window, is the Borussia Dortmund midfielder Ilkay Gundogan. With that said though, we could see the 23-year-old German star deciding against making a move to Old Trafford, on the advice of his Borussia Dortmund team-mate Shinji Kagawa.

Ilkay Gundogan is a Manchester United target
Shinji Kagawa made the move from Borussia Dortmund to Manchester United back in the Summer of 2012 but admitted that he find it very difficult at times. After just two seasons in England, Shinji Kagawa returned to Borussia Dortmund this Summer and has claimed that he has never been happier. He will no doubt have a few words of advice for Ilkay Gundogan, should the German wish to hear them.
