It is fair to say that there are some people in the world who just get tattoos done for the sake of getting tattoos, with no really meaning behind the ink they get put on the body. However, there are also plenty of other people who have a number of different tattoos on their body, with each one of them having a different meaning and often something personal to them.

We have seen a lot of celebrities getting tattoos over the past few years and, while the likes of One Direction hunk Harry Styles have just had some random, pointless and pretty awful tattoos done, there are others who have gone down the more meaningful route, such as the beautiful model Irina Shayk, who recently had a new tattoo inked on her body.
Irina Shayk recently took to her official Instagram account to share with her fans and followers a video of her getting her new tattoo, which is a tribute to her late grandmother Galina Shaykhlislamova, who passed away in December 2013. Along with the video of the inking, Irina also added the caption, "The only one thing makes me stronger every day to have her with me."

It is a very fitting tribute to a woman who was a volunteer during the Second World War. Galina Shaykhlislamova was a secret spy during World War II, and was part of Stalin's Red Army which helped to defeat the Nazis. It is nice to see a superstar getting a tattoo for a very good and valid reason, rather than just for the sake of getting one.
