I have read a lot of reviews and reports regarding the movie The Hunger Games and it seems that many parents believe that The Hunger Games is too violent. Lionsgate cut out seven seconds of footage to meet the 12A requirement in the UK but it seems that some parents are still not satisfied.

One woman claimed that she walked away from the cinema after watch The Hunger Games, feeling like a bad parent for letting her child watch such a violent film. Another parent claimed that they felt The Hunger Games could have an effect on adults and not only children.
However, I have to completely disagree with them. The Hunger Games is a book that is all about violence and blood and gore and I for one was disappointed that it was only a 12A. However, I can understand why they did this, as it draws in a wider audience.

The Hunger Games does show the odd small amount of blood and a certain amount of death but to claim that it is too violent is ridiculous. The world seems to want to wrap children up in cotton wool these days and is becoming a complete nanny state. It is not good for these children, who will grow up not realising what really happens in the real world.
Is The Hunger Games too violent? Not on your nelly! Arriba!!
