With Hugh Jackman making his final outing as Wolverine in the upcoming movie Logan, and the new X-Men prequels beginning to catch up to us in real time, it looks like it could well be time to say farewell to all of the original X-Men stars, as the younger guys come through and take over. While we have loved watching Patrick Stewart as Professor X, we have also enjoyed seeing James McAvoy in the role and we are looking forward to what the future holds for the character in his hands.

Well there have been a lot of rumours about the next instalment in the X-Men franchise, from what the new film will be titled, to which new characters we are going to see appearing in the film. Could we get a new Wolverine being cast? Who knows? But one thing we do know is that James McAvoy will be reprising his role as Professor X and the actor has already been having some meetings with Simon Kinberg about the future of the franchise.
James recently posted a picture of himself enjoying a dinner with Simon, adding the caption, "Dinner last night with the man who's in a multi-generational three-way relationship with two professors. Thanks for dinner @simondavidkinberg and @hutch.parker, I can't wait for the summer."

While many people expect that this meeting was about the next instalment in the X-Men movie franchise, there are others who believe that we are actually going to see James McAvoy appearing in his role as Professor X in the much talked about New Mutants, which we know is going to begin shooting in the Summer. We guess time will tell.
