I haven’t really been paying much attention to X-Factor, as you all know, I am not a huge fan of the concept of reality TV, primarily Big Brother, but you can't fault X-Factor for quality of product, the raw talent that comes off the back of it is consistent year on year. From the title you would have guessed I am talking about the talented Janet Devlin singing ‘Your Song’ by Elton John … and just WOW, this girl blew me away, her delivery all the way to the uniqueness in her voice gave me Goosebumps, and consequently her YouTube videos have been on repeat in the office on a 24 hour loop.
The performance she gave on X-Factor was simply summed up by the judging panel’s expressions, especially in the shape of Gary Barlow’s, not to be missed, lip licking moment when he turned slowly (and somewhat dramatically) towards Kelly Rowland to give the approving nod, well lip lick in this case.

For me, and many, the whole thing was encapsulated in Kelly Rowland’s expression come the end of the song – now I am not sure if they are instructed to be over dramatic, as some of their stares are a little bit too deep and concentrated to be genuine for me, but with her performance, there seemed to be a lot of genuineness occurring throughout the judgmental bunch …

Why is it important I concentrate on their expressions so heavily you ask? Because I, no, we, at FansShare, want this talent to go forth and multiply, it’s an extremely rare thing to see such vulnerability and thought in a live performance, its only right we throw our weight behind Janet Devlin and help her succeed in our own small way.

In summary, The X Factor is back on our radar (as if it was ever really off) – And this is a fair warning to any executives, viewers, mums, dads, sisters, brothers, dogs or cats, keep this rare breed of talent in the show, otherwise I will be forced to slander the program in the office, so as to manipulate each and every one of my colleagues so they start giving X Factor a bad rep. Of course I kid, or do I?
Now watch Miss Devlin deliver an incredible version of 'Us', by one of my favorite Female artists, Regina Spektor. Arriba!
